Queen Elizabeth Park safari

The 3 days’ safari will take you to Uganda’s most visited park in Uganda. Queen Elizabeth national park is located in western Uganda approximately 376 km from Kampala city – the capital of Uganda. The park is understandably the most popular park in Uganda proven by the number of travelers that visit each year. It was named after the Queen Elizabeth of England in1952. The park was strategically located with a stunning view of the magnificent Mount Rwenzori, the plains and the composite jagged mass of mountains that are good for hiking. The park has most diverse habitants making it a home to numerous bird species life, animal, insect, reptiles and amphibians. The park is located in the western region of Uganda in the districts of Kasese, Kamwenge and Rubirizi a potential lion strong hold in Africa together with the adjacent Virunga national park. It is famous for its tree climbing lions in the Ishasha, crater lakes, forested gorges, swamps, rivers, and the beautiful kazinga channel that is a home to the abundant wildlife. The eastern part of the park is characterized with peaceful green escarpments that is acquired from the western rift valley.

 DAY 1: TRANSFER TO QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK

         Today we leave for Queen Elizabeth national park- the medley of wonders located in the south western Uganda. The trip to the park will give you an opportunity to see remarkably landscapes and sceneries in the country side. You will have a stopover at the Equator monument experiencing life both in the southern and northern hemispheres where it’s a stunning point for photos. Lunch stop will be at Agip mall in Mbarara, from there you will continue to the park as you marvel at the breathtaking scenery, tea plantations, the open grasslands, long horned –Ankole cattle, the woodlands and the valley escarpments. Have a game drive in the evening as you drive to your place of accommodation.

DAY 2: GAME DRIVE BOAT SAFARI ALONG KAZINGA CHANNEL

           Enjoy the adventure in Queen Elizabeth national park. The park offers ultimate safari experience with a high bio diversity of any protected area in East Africa the tour guide will pick you from your lodge and you start the early morning game drive exploring predators and grazers on game drive in safari cars.

Return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, enjoy 2-hour boat cruise on Kazinga channel which connects Lake Edward and lake George. This offers an excellent opportunity for photography moments of hippos, buffaloes, elephants and the magnificent array of bird species by the water.

DAY 3: DEPARTURE

With wonderful memories of the previous day, you will have a heavy breakfast as you prepare for a primate walk. Have lunch at the splendid kingfisher lodge before continuing to your preferred destination. However, visiting the Igongo cultural village is an experience that shouldn’t be missed.
